Production Steps of Mesh for Plaster Latymer
Raw materials purchase
Production of an upscale product begins with quality raw materials. Latymer purchases certified material from leading European manufacturers of E-glass fiber (yarn and roving), professional German suppliers of alkali-resistant adhesive dispersions. We work under long-term contracts, which guarantees the delivery of raw materials without interruption and as quickly as possible.
This is the first technological stage in the production of fiberglass mesh. Several hundred spools with fiberglass yarn are tucked into the creel, from where the warping phase begins. The number of yarns on the beam is set depending on the density of the mesh and its tensile strength properties – the smaller the cell and the stronger the mesh.
After that, the warp beam is put in a professional loom where the weft yarn (fiberglass roving) is being inserted. Thus, as a result of the interweaving of the two system threads (warp and weft) a seamlessly woven fiberglass mesh is formed. Important: Latymer uses only leno weaving, which qualitatively distinguishes our product from cheap segment. The process is characterized by the fact that two warp yarns are intertwined, they entwine each other, and do not go parallel (often with mesh of competitors). As a result, on looms weft yarn is being inserted in a twisted warp yarn, which at times increases the tensile strength of the fabric.
To obtain a product that can meet a number of technical requirements, the third stage – impregnation with polymer dispersion (coating) – is very important.
The fiberglass mesh Latymer is impregnated with an adhesive dispersion with increased adhesive property according to the German technology Halten Stark.
The woven material (loom state mesh) is charged into a special coating-drying machine and is polymerized with a color/colorless adhesive dispersion with plasticizers. Already dried fiberglass mesh is wound on a cardboard sleeve. At this stage, the main technological process is completed.
Samples of each batch of fiberglass mesh Latymer undergo quality control in a certified laboratory. In the Registry of Breaking Load, the lab technician records the tensile strength and elongation of the mesh in as-delivered state and after alkali conditioning. After that, a Protocol of finished products and a Quality Passport are compiled.
The dried and tested fiberglass mesh is wound into a roll on a cardboard sleeve. Rolls are branded with a label (with the date and batch number), packed in a thermal film or plastic sleeve, installed in cardboard boxes on wooden pallets and shipped to the finished goods warehouse.
The fiberglass mesh Latymer is stored upright in the warehouse at an air temperature of + 10°C, in conditions that prevent possible mechanical damage, as well as direct sunlight and precipitation
